Vancouver Historic 5K, 10K & Half Marathon
There isn't a more famous place in Vancouver to run, jog, or walk than Stanley Park's Seawall. The Seawall loops around Stanley Park, running along the park's northern, western and southern coastlines. Fully-paved, the Seawall is an ideal pathway for walkers, joggers and runners of all skill levels, and its route--with views of the city, northern mountains, and Lion's Gate Bridge--is undeniably beautiful. The Half Route circles Stanley Park's Seawall Twice, the 10K once, and the 5K is a loop around Devonian Harbour Park.

Stanley Park is recognized around the globe as one of the great parks of the world! Vancouver's first park and one of the city's main tourist attractions, Stanley Park is an evergreen oasis of 400 hectares (1,000 acres) close to the downtown core. Its natural west coast atmosphere offering a back drop of majestic cedar, hemlock and fir trees embraces visitors and transports them to an environment rich in tranquility. The park abundant with wildlife and its features appeal to the naturalist, the plant lover or anyone who would do nothing more than relax in beautiful surroundings. There is always something happening in the park - check our Events Calendar for listings.

Support the WECHCPC
The West End – Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre is a registered charity, not-for-profit that works in partnership with the Vancouver Police Department. We deliver crime prevention education and personal safety awareness activities in the West End, Coal Harbour, and Stanley Park neighbourhoods in Vancouver. We are volunteer-powered, and act as a bridge between the police and the people that live, work and visit our area.

Here’s what you should know about us. In 2017:

  • 184 volunteers donated over 6,982 hours to WECHCPC programs and activities,
  • over 70% of our volunteers are “regular” community members who want to give back to the community in a meaningful way,
  • approximately 15% of our volunteers move into law enforcement careers annually because of their Community Policing experience,
  • almost 5,700 people were helped through our street front office with police and non-police related matters,
  • over 60,400 vehicles were checked = 1 stolen vehicle recovered & 141 abandoned vehicles reported,
  • 12 Speed Watch set-ups were conducted = 400 vehicles observed travelling 10kms or more over the speed limit,
  • 37 Distracting Driving Audits were conducted = 884 cell phone infractions reported & almost 2,100 other distracted driving activities observed,
  • 12 outreach activities & an additional 27 safety presentations/consultations were organized and conducted,
  • 500 bikes were registered through the anti-left registration program Project 529,
  • 300 personal safety reflectors & 6000 theft from automobile warnings were distributed,
  • 118 illegal dumping sites & over 500 street disorder sites were identified and reported,
  • 422 hours was donated to litter and graffiti removal activities = 108 bags of garbage, 1,406 stickers and posters removed, and 1,091 graffiti tags erased.

Much of the work done by the WECHCPC staff and volunteers goes unnoticed, but when the activities stop, there is a noticeable change in the neighbourhood. Please help us continue our efforts to keep the West End, Coal Harbour, and Stanley Park a safe place for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks for your support!
