"3rd Sunday of February" February 16th, 2014
*New for 2013 Each year we strive to make our event better than the previous year which includes making the course safe for both you the participant and the public. On May 7, 2012 at a special closed Langley Township Council meeting, Council confirmed the following additional, more stringent requirements.
This is the most important aspect that will affect you during the race:
Requirement that event participants deviating from marked course and event areas be disqualified from the event. This means we have to have extra marshals on course that will be writing down bib numbers of participants running or walking outside the marked course. (cones) The first aspect of the course that we will be disqualifying people is around the 1K. This is the point participants are running down Hudson Bay's St. and crossing onto the South side of 88th. Participants have to cross and stay in the South lane of 88th and if you cut the corner and run in/on the North side of 88th your race will be over before you get 1.5K into the race! The course will be well marked and marshaled BUT you will need to follow the course and listen to the marshals. Even if you have to pass you need to pass within the marked course.
